What Is SS 310 Stainless Steel?
Stainless Steel 310 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel containing approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel — the highest combined alloy content of the standard austenitic grades. This composition gives SS 310 outstanding resistance to oxidation and carburisation at temperatures up to 1100°C continuous and 1150°C intermittent, making it the material of choice wherever conventional grades are unsuitable.
The low-carbon variant, SS 310S, minimises carbon precipitation at grain boundaries during welding and prolonged high-temperature exposure, producing superior weldability and improved resistance to intergranular corrosion — both grades are available from our Lahore stockyard.
